2014 national signing day: Mountain West team rankings

A look at the 2014 early Mountain West recruiting rankings with less than a month toward signing day.

2014 national signing day for football is a mere 25 days away so it is time to take a look at where the teams are ranked. This is 247Sports composite rankings which covers the major recruiting sites, so the average is pretty good cross-sample.

San Diego State has had a boon in recruiting over the past few weeks recruiting for their 2014 class and have the most three- star recruits with 12 and are leading the Mountain West. The big surprise is that San Jose State is second in the league with nine three-star recruits.

The surprise on the other end is that Boise State is struggling and is seventh so far, and some of that does have to do with Chris Petersen going to Washington and him taking some recruits. However, the Broncos have rebounded nicely with a few high-powered recruits with the league's only four-star recruit in defensive back Dylan Sumner-Gardner.

These are mostly verbal commits so they are not binding, and only the players who came from the junior college ranks or enrolled early are official.

Most of the Mountain West schools have a lot of ground to cover and the ranking goes by point totals which is why Boise State is in the middle of the pack since they have just nine recruits.
