The Wyoming Cowboys wrap up our final team preview for the upcoming college football season. We are joined by Matt of Cowboy Altitude who covers all things Wyoming here on SB Nation, also follow the site on twitter @CowboyAltitude. We first start off discussing the Wyoming player rankings on our top 50 countdown, and discuss the Brett Smith and Robert Herron rankings.
We begin with the Wyoming offense which should be able to put up a lot points, and the real concern is the running back depth as well as the offensive line. Wyoming brought in many JUCO players to help on the offensive line, so if they can gel that will certainly help out everything. The running game will be manned by Brandon Miller and Shaun Wick.
While the offense will be fine, the defense needs some help, and in particularly in the running game. The defensive line did a solid job at stopping up the middle runs, but it was the outside players like the defensive ends and outside linebackers were not getting the job done. That area should be better with a defensive scheme change, and if it can improve then that could allow Wyoming to be in more games.
Also, we discuss if Dave Christensen is on the hot seat since he has taken over offensive play calling, and if Wyoming i bowl bound.
