Rolling along in our podcast preview series, and up next we preview the San Jose St. Spartans, and this weeks guest is Jimmy Durkin from the San Jose Mercury News. Durkin covers the Spartans for the paper and does some San Francisco 49ers coverage as well.
The podcast we discuss everything about San Jose State's upcoming season, ranging from the offensive and defensive lines, the new coaching staff and what scheme changes could come into play with new head coach Ron Caragher.
The offensive system is not going to change all that much, because it would be not the best move to overhaul a system with talent that San Jose State does not have yet, or proven talent. The tight ends have very little pass catching experience and a fullback is needed in the west coast system that Caragher wants to use.
We go over the schedule which sets up brilliantly for a run at the West Division title since the Spartans host San Diego State, Utah State, Fresno State and miss Boise State. Their toughest road conference game is against Nevada.
Make sure to give Jimmy Durkin a follow on Twitter @Jimmy_Durkin for some fine San Jose State coverage.
