2017 NFL Draft: Boise State’s Jeremy McNichols reportedly giving up final year of eligibility

Not a shock that McNichols will head to the next level

NCAA Football: UNLV at Boise State Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

Boise State running back Jeremy McNichols might be playing in his final game in a Broncos uniform when they take on Baylor in the Cactus Bowl.

Longtime NFL Draft Analyst & Publisher of DraftInsider.net is reporting that McNichols is gone.

This would not be a shock if this report is accurate as McNichols has been one of the best backs in the country and has earned back-to-back second-team all-Mountain West honors in a stacked field within the conference.

However, McNicohls mother is saying the opposite.

Nationally, McNichols was fifth in total rushing yards with 1,663 and rushed for 23 touchdowns, but he also made noise in the receiving game with another 450 yards and four touchdowns. Combining those yards from scrimmage placed McNichols second nationally.

Bleacher Reports has him 11th overall as they are one of the few sites that are ranking draft eligible players whether they have declared or not.

McNichols is the second straight Boise State back to leave early and following in the footsteps in Jay Ajayi who left after his junior year and was taken in the 5th round by the Miami Dolphins.
