The Senior Bowl is the most prestigious of the All-Star bowl games which allows NFL personnel to get an up close look at players against similar opponents in a weeks worth of practices and then a game at the end of the week. The Senior Bowl has started handing out invites and three Mountain West players have earned those invitations.,
San Jose State running back Tyler Ervin, San Diego State long snapper Jeffery Overbaugh and Utah State linebacker Kyler Fackrell.
Ervin is one of the more dynamic players in the Mountain West and rushed for 1,469 yards which was second in the conference and he had 13 touchdowns. He also was a force in the receiving and returning game with 44 receptions averaged 23.9 yards per kickoff return. However, he is listed as the 23rd rated overall running back, according to CBSSports.com. However, his versatility will help him find a spot in the NFL.
All that can be said about a long snapper is that if you are good at it then one can have a cushy job in the NFL, so seeing Overbaugh get an invite bodes well for his future.
Prior to the 2014 season, Fackrell was considered a first-round NFL Draft pick but he tore his ACL. He had a very good year for Utah State and is still a top-15 linebacker but he is currently pegged as a third or fourth round selection.
