Mountain West Bracket Projections: Looking like a one-bid league

The Mountain West could be a one-bid league this year.

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

The Mountain West is having a down year and they might be a one-big league and as conference play begins there are four teams in the running for a NCAA tournament bid.

Boise State: So far, the Broncos are the only team that makes the tournament when averaging out dozens of brackets so far.  Using Bracket Matrix , the Broncos are currently a 12 seed.  They are ranked the highest as the ten seed.  Quality wins currently include: UC Irvine and Oregon. Upcoming games to help their seeding: Fresno State, San Diego State.

Fresno State: Out of all the Bulldog’s projections for seedings, the average out as a twelve seed however not receiving enough bracket votes to get in the current top 68. Quality wins include: Pepperdine and UNLV. Upcoming games to help their seeding: Boise State, Air Force and New Mexico.

San Diego State: The Aztecs come in as a thirteen seed averaging out the projections, but have a lot more votes than Fresno State.  It is a lot more likely as of now for SDSU to make the top 68 than any other team in the Mountain West not including Boise State.

Quality wins include: Cal. Upcoming games to help their seeding: Boise State.

New Mexico: New Mexico received just two total votes averaging out as a fifteen seed.  This rounds out the Mountain West for any teams earning a seed.  Long story short, they’re a long shot as of now, however they might have the best resume building win with a thrashing of Northern Iowa. However, they really need some good wins down the road in conference play.

Quality wins include: Northern Iowa, New Mexico State and Fresno State. Upcoming games to help their seeding: Boise State, Fresno State, multiple Mountain West tournament wins.
