2017 NBA Draft: How to watch, streaming, order selection

Will Nevada’s Cameron Oliver be taken in the NBA Draft?

NBA: NBA Draft Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

The NBA Draft Draft is tonight at 7 p.m. ET and there is one Mountain West player that might be taken and that is Nevada’s Cameron Oliver who also will be in attendance of the draft.

Most mock drafts do not have Oliver being taken but there are a few out there that have him as a late second round pick such as Chad Ford’s latest projections.

Jonathan Tjarks of The Ringer lists Oliver as a sleeper candidate:

However, any player that showed Oliver’s combination of shot-blocking and 3-point shooting ability in college should get a shot in the NBA, and he would hardly be the first 20-year-old who needed to improve his defensive awareness and shot selection.

If he had been paired with an elite point guard on a power-conference team, it would be easy to see him playing his way into the first round. Don’t let the fact that he played for an inconsistent team at a mid-major conference fool you. Cam Oliver has the talent to play in the NBA for a long time.

It seems likely that if Oliver’s name does get called it will be in the 50-60 range, but if he does not get selected he for sure will be snagged up to play in a summer league team.
