UNLV freshman Stephen Zimmerman is set to workout for the Indiana Pacers today.
Last season, Zimmerman averaged 10.5 points per game, while also leading the Rebels in rebounds averaging 8.7 a game. Though he had to miss 3 weeks due to a knee injury.
Zimmerman participated in the NBA combine at the beginning of May, however he did not participate in any of the scrimmages. Electing just to do the agility drills.
The Las Vegas native Zimmerman, had an illustrious high school career as he was a McDonalds All American, first-team All Southwest league and MaxPreps Junior All-American. Also, while attending Bishop Gorman High School Zimmerman won four straight Nevada Division I State titles.
Zimmerman announced March 28th that he would be entering the draft. He then hired agent Darren Matsubara from Wasserman on April 18th.
Indiana announced the tryout yesterday, in a press release that included that he will be working out with Thon Maker, Jake Layman, Retin Obasohan, Shavon Fields and Fred VanVleet.
The Pacers will be guided by new head coach Nate McMillan, who just recently got hired to replace fired Frank Vogel.
The Pacers hold the 20th and 50th picks in the upcoming draft on June 23 in Brooklyn, New York.
