Week 5 college football rankings: San Diego State enters coaches poll

San Diego State enjoyed a bye this week as they get ready to take on South Alabama this week, and with not playing they enjoyed a bump in the polls.

The USA TODAY coaches poll did not rank the Aztecs last week but with teams ahead of them stumbling they made an appearance at No. 23.

Boise State just defeated its second consecutive Pac-12 team as they used a big first half to hold of Oregon State by a score of 38-24, but the Broncos are still receiving votes and two spots out of the rankings.

The undefeated Air Force Falcons earned four votes after their 27-20 road victory over Utah State.

The AP poll out San Diego State up three spots to No. 19 and Boise State enters the pol lat 25. Air Force is receiving votes.

Football Outsiders has released its updated S&P+ rankings and they place Boise State at 19, San Diego State at 51 and Air Force 69th.
