Mountain West football announces Friday night TV schedule

Eight conference games will be played on Friday night.

The Mountain West announced their slate for Friday night games -- one Thursday as well -- with kick off times and television networks. Of these games, eight are conference games starting with Boise State traveling to New Mexico on Oct. 7 -- which should be an anticipated matchup as the Lobos upset the Broncos last year -- and ending on Black Friday with Air Force hosting Boise State.

There are two non-conference games in this release with the Wyoming vs. Eastern Michigan game being announced on Friday Sept. 23, and the other is Bois State hosting BYU which has already been known but we now know the TV channel and time.

The conferenced continues the trend of not playing double-headers or games that kick off on different networks at the same time. There is just one of those games this year on Oct. 28 but the overlap is minimal with over a two-hour gap between kicks.

Leading the way for these non-Saturday games is non other than Boise State which has five on the docket, and they are followed by San Diego State with three visits.

Fresno State and UNLV on the schedule twice is a head scratcher since those two are the only teams to appear to not make a bowl game; the Bulldogs are appear twice and the Rebels once.Wyoming's game is non-conference so that is not up to the Mountain West to decide.
