Mountain West championship game injury report

There are key players out for both Air Force and San Diego State in the Mountain West title game.

Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

Both teams heading into the Mountain West championship game are banged up with a few key players out in this game. The biggest injury comes from the San Diego State who lost starting quarterback Maxwell Smith to a torn ACL and will miss the game. Christian Chapman will be under center and he will have to do his best to keep the interception-free streak alive that Smith has held since Week 2.

The Aztecs are also missing Christian Heyward who has a torn ACL and MCL, he was a contributor on the defense with a pair of sacks and five tackles for a loss.

Air Force is going to miss running back D.J. Johnson with a hamstring injury and has missed the past two games. He scored six touchdowns and rushed for 475 yards. The Falcons rushing attack will take a hit against this Aztecs defense without Johnson but they have enough depth to be fine running the ball.
