Week 12 Mountain West Bowl Projections: Will the champ go to the Las Vegas Bowl?

There are just two weeks left in the college football season and here is another look at projections.

Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

The final week of Mountain West football is upon us and many things are still to be figured out. Questions such as can Boise State get back on track or will the depressing season in Idaho continue?

How will new teams added to bowl eligibility such as Utah State fair in this years bowl games?  All of these questions will soon be answered both on and off the field, but did your team make this week's cut of Mountain West Bowl projections?

New Mexico:

New Mexico Bowl vs Old Dominion in Albuquerque, New Mexico. ESPN

New Mexico Bowl vs Middle Tennessee in Albuquerque, New Mexico. ESPN

New Mexico Bowl vs Arizona in Albuquerque, New Mexico. CBS Sports

New Mexico vs Central Michigan in Albuquerque, New Mexico. SB Nation

The Lobos are looking more and more likely to stay at home for their bowl game, and the best opponent could be a Pac-12 team and a regional rival in Arizona. Getting to a bowl game now that they have six wins is amazing for how far this program had to pull itself up.

Nevada:

Potato Bowl vs Ohio in Boise, Idaho. ESPN

Armed Forces Bowl vs Virginia Tech in Fort Worth, Texas. ESPN

Quick Lane Bowl vs Central Michigan in Detroit, Michigan. CBS Sports

Arizona Bowl vs Western Kentucky in Tuscon, Arizona. SB Nation

Nevada will finish their season on national television this Saturday night when they try to reach seven wins against SDSU on ESPN2.  So far, a lot of good match-ups for the Wolf Pack.

Boise State:

Potato Bowl vs Akron in Boise, Idaho. ESPN

Poinsettia Bowl vs Western Michigan in San Diego, California. ESPN

Poinsettia Bowl vs Western Michigan in San Diego, California. CBS Sports

Potato Bowl vs Bowling Green in Boise, Idaho. SB Nation

Boise has really hit a crossroads.  The season is going nowhere as planned and will probably result in a lower tier bowl game.  Bowl games like the Broncos however because of their big name and the ticket sales/merchandise they could sell.

Air Force:

Poinsettia Bowl vs Western Michigan in San Diego, California. ESPN

Cactus Bowl vs Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona. ESPN

Armed Forces Bowl vs Nebraska in Fort Worth, Texas. CBS Sports

Las Vegas Bowl vs California in Las Vegas, Nevada. SB Nation

Air Force has A LOT OF REALLY GOOD GAMES RIGHT NOW!  Cal, Nebraska, and Arizona would all be great for the Falcons this December.

Utah State:

Arizona Bowl vs Arizona in Tuscon, Arizona. ESPN

Arizona Bowl vs Old Dominion in Tuscon, Arizona. CBS Sports

Independence Bowl vs Cincinnati in Shreveport, Louisiana. SB Nation

The Aggies got to win number six with a close game vs. Nevada and are now bowl eligible.  This is not only good for Utah State but for the Mountain West as they need as many teams in as possible.  A match-up vs Cincy would be nice for a little MW vs. AAC.

Colorado State:

Arizona Bowl vs Arizona in Tuscon, Arizona. ESPN

Armed Forces Bowl vs Buffalo in Fort Worth, Texas. ESPN

Potato Bowl vs Bowling Green in Boise, Idaho. CBS Sports

Armed Forces Bowl vs Arizona State in Fort Worth, Texas. SB Nation

The Rams also got to win number 6 this past weekend after they defeated New Mexico.  A lot of good games on the board right now but I would love to see them end up in Fort Worth.

San Diego State:

Las Vegas Bowl vs USC in Las Vegas, Nevada. ESPN

Las Vegas Bowl vs USC in Las Vegas, Nevada. CBS Sports

Poinsettia Bowl vs Arizona in San Diego, California. SB Nation

SDSU will try to go for win number nine this weekend when they face Nevada.  A possible 10 win season could put Aztec basketball in the backseat for an extra month or two.
