2015 Mountain West football recruiting: Who earned the top class?

Boise State earned the best class in 2015 signing day, but San Jose State is the surprise team.

National signing day is in the books and the Mountain West had some teams who had a great class. The top was very good with Boise State, San Jose State and San Diego State. At the other end, there are eight teams ranked 100 or lower.

Seeing Boise State at the top of the rankings was not a surprise, but how well they did is a bit of a surprise with the multiple four-star players.

The biggest surprise was San Jose State who was second in the Mountain West, but just three spots behind Boise State. The Spartans landed a few great commits who had plenty of Pac-12 offers and were leaning to the Power Five conference in wide receiver Kanya Bell and defensive back Tae'on Mason.

The Spartans numbers are boosted some by signing 32 players. When breaking down the actual rating per recruit, Fresno State earns the second best class in the Mountain West. San Jose State is a very close third in that category.

San Diego State also finished off strong by landing a pair of four-star recruits.

One recruiting class does not make a great team for the upcoming season, so San Jose State fans should hold back their optimistic, to a degree, before claiming they are going to challenge for the Mountain West. Yet, it is a start for the Spartans.
