San Diego State and Fresno State fended off upset attempts from lower seeded teams to make it to the Mountain West title game in a winner take all for the leagues very likely only NCAA Tournament bid. The loser goes to the NIT, and that might not even be the case for Fresno State.
This game moves from the shadows of pay television to the bright lights of over-the-air CBS, and hopefully this title game lives up to the rest of the tournament which has plenty of exciting games. This game will come down to if San Diego State's lock down defense can slow down the coaches player of the year pick in Fresno State's Marvelle Harris.
If the Aztecs defense does what it normally does than they very well should win, but if the Bulldogs want the upset they need Harris to have a big game, our rebound the Aztecs and push the pace.
These two teams split the season series with the Aztecs winning the first game in overtime, 73-67, and Fresno State taking the most recent game by a score of 58-57.
