Mountain West basketball open thread: Conference play is mostly here

Conference play gets going tonight with four of the five being league contests.

Troy Babbitt-USA TODAY Sports

The Mountain West has had just a so-so non-conference season and the league could really be a one-bid league. Conference season brings a new breath of life to teams and Wednesday night there are nine teams in action with four of those being conference games.

Home court is very valuable in the Mountain West and even the bottom teams are able to pull off an upset while at home, and that makes the Utah State vs. San Jose State game more interesting with it being played in San Jose.

The big game of the night is Wyoming traveling to San Diego State. The Aztecs and Cowboys have been up and down so far this year as both are 7-6, and these are two NCAA Tournament teams from last year.
