After Marqueze Coleman hit his two free throws, it give the Wolf Pack a 56-55 lead with 3:06 left in the game.
It would be the last time the Wolf Pack had the lead.
A layup made by Goodluck Okonoboh gave the Rebels the lead back at 57-56 and after a missed jumper by Marqueze Coleman, UNLV iced the game at the 1:41 mark of the game with a Christian Wood three pointer to give the Rebels a 61-56 lead that they did not relinquish.
In the end, the Rebels defeated the Nevada Wolf Pack by a score of 67-62. The loss snaps the Wolf Pack's three game winning streak against UNLV and also the loss extends the Wolf Pack losing streak to five games as Nevada's last win came against UNLV on January 7th in Las Vegas.
The Wolf Pack had three of their starters score in double figures tonight as junior forward AJ West posted another double double scoring 15 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Tyron Criswell and Eric Cooper Jr., both had very good performances as Criswell scored 15 points and Cooper scored 16 points respectively.
The Rebels sophomore forward Christian Wood came up big for UNLV as he scored 16 points (including the three pointer to ice the game for UNLV) and grabbed 11 rebounds in the winning effort. UNLV forward Goodluck Okonoboh was good luck for the Rebels as he scored 13 points grabbed nine rebounds and blocked five shots in tonight's contest.
The Wolf Pack next game will be on Saturday as the travel to Laramie to face the Wyoming Cowboys while the UNLV will also be back in action on Saturday as well as they host Air Force.
