2013 Mountain West basketball tournament: New Mexico claims No. 1 seed

New Mexico clinched the Mountain West regular season title, and have locked down the top seed in the conference tournament.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Mountain West Conference tournament begins on March 12 - 16 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, and the only seed that is locked up is the top seed, as the New Mexico Lobos clinched the conference title as they dispatched of Wyoming on Saturday.

The second seed is completely up in the air as only two games separates the second place through sixth place team. The seventh through nine spots are still undecided as all three have 11 loses entering the final week of the season.

Here is the schedule if the season ended today (stupid saying, but it applies):

Tuesday, March 12

Game 1: No. 8 Wyoming Cowboys vs. No. 9 Nevada Wolf Pack, 8 p.m. ET (No TV)

Wednesday, March 13 - Quarterfinals

Game 2: No. 3 Colorado St. Rams vs. No. 6 Air Force Falcons, 3 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network)

Game 3: No. 2 UNLV Runnin' Rebels vs. No. 7 Fresno St. Bulldogs, 5:30 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network)

Game 4: No. 1 New Mexico Lobos vs. No. 8 Wyoming/No. 9 Nevada winner, 9:30 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network)

Game 5: No. 4 San Diego St. Aztecs vs. No. 5 Boise St. Broncos, 12 a.m. ET (CBS Sports Network)

Friday, March 15 - Semifinals

Game 6: Game 2 winner vs. Game 3 winner, 9 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network)

Game 7: Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 11:30 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network)

Saturday, March 16 - Championship game

Game 8: Game 6 winner vs. Game 7 winner, 6 p.m. ET (CBS)

Make sure to stay up late for the semifinal game, and also the final game on Wednesday between the No. 4 and No. 5 seed. This conference tournament should be one of the more exciting tourney's this March.
