The Mountain West tournament quarterfinal action is in the books, and the top four seeds advanced to the semifinal round. With the four best teams moving on it should make for some really good basketball, but the only exception is that Colorado State is more than likely going to be without Dorian Green who has an injured ankle.
As for who is left, UNLV is looking like the team to beat, and it is not just because they are at home. Mike Moser and Anthony Bennett stepped up huge against in their win over Air Force on Wednesday.
Colorado State looks iffy without Green and will need Colton Iverson and Pierce Hornung to step up, but my early prediction is that they fall to UNLV.
San Diego State and New Mexico are playing as well as expected with their wins. The Aztecs where challenged by Boise State, and the Lobos were tested just enough to keep their game sharp in their win over Wyoming.
