Mountain West basketball standings: UNLV is in a free fall

UNLV has lost two league games in a row, and is now sitting in fifth place.

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

New Mexico and Colorado State are looking like the only two teams that are showing regular consistency in the Mountain West this year. UNLV has lost two straight games, one to Fresno State and the other to Boise State. Then there is San Diego State who is 5-3 and has loses on the road to Wyoming and Air Force.

The league is all over the place and proven by Fresno State's win over UNLV, is that any team can win against any other team. The conference tournament is going to be amazing in Las Vegas next month, and even the top seed who plays the No. 8 or No. 9 should be a good game.

Here are the latest standings before Saturdays's games.
