The first ever Mountain West title game will be played between the Utah State Aggies and Fresno St. Bulldogs. Fresno State wrapped up the West title a week ago but they fell to San Jose State 62-52 and are no longer heading to the BCS.
Utah State had to win on Saturday when they hosted the Wyoming Cowboys and they did not disappoint as they cruised to a 35-7 win over the Cowboys. The Aggies were all but left for dead when star quarterback Chuckie Keeton went down with a torn ACL earlier in the year against BYU.
Without Keeton in the lineup, Utah State has a 5-2 record -- which includes the BYU loss -- and the only conference loss came against Boise State, but that was a game where Utah State played two quarterbacks between freshman Darell Garretson and Craig Harrison. After settling in with Garretson, Utah State has not lost a game.
This will be the first matchup between these two schools this year, and officially the title game will be known on Sunday when the latest BCS standings are released but it will be at Fresno State.
Here are the game details.
