The latest Mountain West power poll was pretty clear on who the best teams in the league are, and that is Boise State in the Mountain and Fresno State in the West. Those two teams were a unanimous pick for the top spot in their respected divisions.
The Mountain Division has stabilized itself with Wyoming jumping over Utah State by just a mere four points. However, the West is a complete mess outside of Fresno State and last place Hawaii. There are just six points that separate second place through fifth place, and there is a tie at second between UNLV and San Diego State. Each team, outside of Fresno State and Hawaii, received a second through fifth-place vote.
Here is the Week 6 power poll, with 13 voters:
Mountain | West |
1. Boise State 78 (13) | 1. Fresno State 78 (13) |
2. Wyoming 60 | 2. UNLV 47 |
3. Utah State 56 | 2. San Diego State 47 |
4. Colorado State 35 | 4.San Jose State 44 |
5. New Mexico 29 | 5. Nevada 41 |
6. Air Force 15 | 6. Hawaii 13 |
