Players of the Game
Offensive Player of the Game
Davon Booth, with four carries and 71 yards rushing, receives the offensive player of the game award as Booth helped to provide a spark of offense for Utah State. The Aggies struggled to run the ball for most of the season so going for 71 yards on a small amount of carries is a successful way to ending the season.
Defensive Player of the Game
Freshman defensive end Paul Fitzgerald made four total tackles, had three tackles for a loss, and had a team-high three sacks against the Panthers. This was an impressive performance from Fitzgerald and a welcome one for Utah State, who struggled to get pressure on the quarterback throughout the season.
Though it was a disappointing end to the season for Utah State there are many positives to build on for next season. Firstly, the Aggies were able to break through a tough start to the year and made a bowl game. Second, Utah State was able to get several players experience that will be returning next year. Utah State has areas to focus on such as consistency in the first half, the rushing game, and getting pressure on the quarterback. Utah State is well positioned to improve on their 6-7 season this year as the Aggies attempt to reach their first Mountain West Championship since the 2021 season.
