Game Previews:

What to Watch For:

  • Colorado State: The Rams are going to try to make defenses conform to them with their run-heavy, pro-style approach. Will it make a difference for them this year? Side note: they are home underdogs to an FCS team.
  • Air Force: The Falcons may not be getting the hype they deserve after having one of the best defenses in the nation in 2020. This is a chance to show everyone if the academy should be taken seriously and how the reloading offense will look.
  • Fresno State: The Bulldogs look to build off of a convincing win with a much tougher foe in Oregon. Will they emerge from this game looking as good?
  • Wyoming: All eyes should be on the new-look offense, which will sink or swim the Cowboy’s conference title game hopes. Going up against Montana State should be a good stepping stone to work out the kinks.
  • San Jose State: Like Fresno State, the Spartans looked great last week. Also, like the Bulldogs, the competition improves dramatically. They have a chance for a statement win against in-state USC. Can their winning formula keep working?
  • Nevada: The Wolf Pack did not get the luxury of a warm-up game and will go up against PAC-12 opponent Cal right away to put their offense and special season to the test. Are they up for the challenge and how will the defense look?
  • San Diego State: The Aztec defense should have no issue creating an easy victory in this game. But the real focus should be on the offense and if they can develop any kind of passing attack before going up against tougher opponents.
  • Utah State: The Aggies also have a PAC-12 matchup and it will be a difficult debut for Coach Anderson and company. Can they find consistency on both sides of the ball in a new scheme?
  • Hawaii: After an embarrassing opening loss, Hawaii has a chance to right the ship this week. They will need to show they can put up points early and often and stopping the other team sometimes would be nice.
