Conference realignment coming to the Mountain West?

Pros and cons of moving conferences?

A CSU beat writer tackles that question. Pros are more money, a new start, new exposure. Cons are the Border War in jeopardy, more travel, and basically a lateral move.

Is losing teams good or bad for the conference?

Chris Murray debates. Air Force is strong in football, an annual bowl team, but struggles in men’s basketball. Colorado State is a bit of the opposite, formidable in MBB but has been on a downward slide in football for most of the past decade. Regardless of how one feels about that, all should be able to agree on this quote: “The biggest problem right now is no one has any faith in Craig Thompson as commissioner and there is growing concern about the league,” a MW source told CBS.

Wyoming AD isn't on board with losing teams.

Count Tom Burman as someone who doesn’t want AFA and CSU to leave. Nor does he see any value in schools leaving for the AAC, which he depicts as weird and illogical. He isn’t looking forward to losing the Border War, as the two have been playing CSU since 1899 and there has been a trophy (Bronze Boot) since 1968.
