Mountaintop View 9-28-21. POTW, Rebels, Map of Thrones, Top QBs, FPI, Poll Time!!

NCAA Football: UNLV at Fresno State Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

We head into Week 5 and the most conference games to date with the marquee game when Nevada travels to Boise State for a Saturday afternoon tilt. But before we look too far ahead, here are some links from Week 4, a future indicator (you can always use your own crystal ball for comparison), and another chance to voice your opinion in my latest poll. Enjoy!

Mountain West Players of the Week

For UNLV, clear signs of progress despite loss at Fresno State

For a team in need of hope, moral victories count despite what the coach may say. Is this a corner turned for the Rebel program?

Current College Football Imperialism Map

Biggest change in map was Boise State’s victory over previously undefeated Utah State. BYU travels to Utah State this weekend, so map could change again depending on outcome.

Not a surprise which 2 Mountain West QBs make the list, but where are they ranked? Carson Strong has been listed as the top QB for weeks, does he keep the Number 1 spot?

FPI Rankings after Week 4 for Western Teams

The Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance going forward. Who do you think is too high or too low?
