We are four weeks into the season and more than half of the teams in the league have now played a conference game. This week, there were some great performances on the defensive side of the ball, but only a few that stood out on offense. Here are our Mountain West Connection players of the week.
Offense
Haaziq Daniels (Air Force)
The Falcons didn’t need Daniels’ arm much this past weekend, but they sure needed his legs. Daniels attempted only four passes and completed two of them for 70 yards. The majority of his damage came on the ground, where he 17 carries for 164 yards. It was a close decision, but Daniels takes the award home this week.
Also considered: Jake Haener, Jalen Cropper, Hank Bachmeier, Xazavian Valladay
Defense
Zeke Noa (Boise State)
Noa had 10 tackles, a sack, and 1.5 tackles for loss. Noa led a Bronco defense that allowed only three points to a Utah State team that has put up big numbers over the course of the season. Noa overcame an early injury and returned to put some big numbers.
Also considered: Cameron Lockridge
Special Teams
Matt Araiza (Sa Diego State)
Araiza averaged an impressive 65 yards per punt and made both of his field goals. That is about impressive as it gets for a kicker.
