We are at the mid-point of the week and with it comes the latest links pertaining to the Mountain West Conference and college sports in general. Check out what is coming your way today as the links press on.

30 coaches under 30.

247 releases their annual post featuring the 30 best coaches under the age of 30. After featuring 5 such coaches last year, the Mountain West has one lone representative this year. That single coach is A’Lique Terry, who was hired to be the offensive line coach at Hawaii this offseason. He comes as a GA from Oregon and will be in his initial year as a full-time coach but has done great work with offensive linemen so far.

Will staff shuffle unlock the Wolf Pack defense?

Nevada sure hopes so. The defense has lagged behind the offense for the past few seasons, but this year could be different. They only have four full-time coaches on defense, one less than almost every other team, and moved their DC Brian Ward off his natural spot of LB to share DL duties. The idea is this allows him to oversee the entire defense more, with the other three coaches overseeing each unit of the defense. How will the experiment turn out this year?

The Lobos name their starting Quarterback.
