We are at the mid-point of the week and with it comes the latest links pertaining to the Mountain West Conference and college sports in general. Check out what is coming your way today as the links press on.

Rebel Williams wants to make his last season count.

Running back Charles Williams has been on the UNLV football team for seemingly forever, but he wants to make this victory lap count. In his sixth season, he has matured, becoming both a dedicated father as well as the first academic All-American in program history. Williams is also within reach of the school’s all-time rushing record (needing only 794 yards).

New GA guidelines released by the NCAA.

The NCAA is at it again, this time tweaking the stipulations on graduate assistants. While not the biggest scandal in the college sports world, it seems some schools were having older coaches become GAs and trying to squeeze as many years out of them as they could. Now, they can only be a GA within a 7-year window following their graduation. Also, GAs can serve a third year if “they complete 24-semester or 36-quarter hours during the initial two-year period of appointment.” There you go.

New NCAA Constitutional Committee.
