Today, the Mountain West Conference released its 2021 football preseason poll, as the conference’s media days are underway in Las Vegas. Boise State (Mountain) and Nevada (West) were reached picked to finish first in their respective divisions.

The Broncos received 23 first-place votes, earning 148 total points. Wyoming picked to finish behind Boise State in the Mountain division, received the remaining two first-place votes, and earned 115 total points.
Right behind the Cowboys was the Air Force Falcons, who were picked in third place. Rounding out the Mountain Division were the Colorado State Rams (72), Utah State Aggies (47), and New Mexico Lobos (38).
In the West division, the reigning conference champion San Jose Spartans were not the pick to repeat as conference champions. The Nevada Wolf Pack received 19 first-place votes, for a total of 141 points, while the Spartans received five first-place votes and 121 total points.
San Diego was picked to finish in third place (96 total points) and the remaining first-place vote in the West division went to the Fresno State Bulldogs who earned 85 total points. Finishing off the West division was Hawaii (56) and UNLV (26).
