MWC Recruiting Roundup 7-12-21. The latest news, offers, and commits.

It’s another week of the MWC Recruiting Roundup.

Can you tell recruiting is in a dead period?

Commits slowed way down compared to last week. And offers are at an all-year low. There was only one known offer in the Mountain West this week. Similarly, there were only eight new commits this week, spread out over seven teams. No one really stood out, although many teams have an argument to “win the week.” The nod goes to Hawaii, who got their first commit of the 2022 cycle, the last Mountain West team to do so.

Class of 2021 Cover Photo Total:

  • Utah State: 6
  • Air Force: 3
  • Boise State: 3
  • New Mexico: 3
  • Colorado State: 1
  • Fresno State: 1
  • Hawaii: 1
  • UNLV: 1
  • Wyoming: 1

Recruiting Calendar:

We are not in a dead period. After this past year, everyone should be familiar with what a dead period is. There is no in-person contact permitted between coaches and recruits, either on-campus or off-campus.

Air Force Commitment Tracker:

Since the Air Force Academy regularly has around 100 commits in each class, it’s kind of fun to track them over the course of the year.

Number of Falcon verbal commits: 28

Commitment Spotlight:

OL Weylin Lapuaho (Utah State)

“It just felt like home when I went there on my first visit, and then on my second, I knew it was the place. I had 2 uncles that have played there and the new coaching staff seems awesome and that I know they are gonna get the program right and also win and win a lot!”

DB Kona Moore (Hawaii)

“A few reasons why I chose Hawaii is because the coaching staff’s extreme belief in my abilities and they think I can make an impact with them. Another reason would be that I get to play in front of my family at a D1 FBS school and they get to watch my games and practices. I am excited to compete for a starting position and work every day until I do so.”
