Diving into playoff expansion.
Bill Hancock has seen expansion in college sports with March Madness and the Big Eight and now the college football discussion as the director of the CFP. Here are the facts: (1) that a CFP working group is exploring models; (2) that those models range from a six- to a 16-team playoff; and (3) that the playoff will remain at four for at least the next two seasons. The rest is speculation, and that’s the part that will run rampant. It seems inevitable but as to what exactly the next model will look like is far from certain. Out of the 11 on the committee, none are against expansion but five are leading the charge as pro-expansion. Perhaps the most vital piece of info is: An automatic spot for a G5 team is viewed as an essential compromise from the committee.
Cowboys going traditional in their spring game.
Craig Bohl runs a classic program built on defense, both sides of the line, and a heavy dose of running. So why would the spring game be any different? No point systems, no running clock, just a traditional football game. Check out how to follow it.
Doubs already getting noticed.
