San Jose State bringing back a familiar MWC face.
A day after Utah State’s new coach was announced, San Jose State officially announced the hiring of their new men’s basketball coach, Tim Miles. He had mixed results in his seven seasons at Nebraska, but the stakes were higher there as well. Miles is no stranger to the Mountain West, as he previously served as the head coach for Colorado State. He is also no stranger to rebuilding projects, taking the Rams from a team that went winless in the conference to a NCAA Tournament birth by his last season. San Jose State is in a similar situation and hiring a proven winner in this conference is a great move.
Can Carson Strong become a first-round pick?
In Chris Murray’s Monday Mailbag, he discusses Strong’s potential at following in the footsteps of Josh Allen and Jordan Love. His strengths are his NFL size, accuracy, arm strength, and his ability to throw the deep ball. His weaknesses would be his overall athleticism, medical history and the usual level of competition. We won’t know for a year but credit Murray for starting this train if it gains steam.
