Today is Hump-Day and with it comes the latest links pertaining to the Mountain West Conference and college sports in general. Winter sports have concluded, but spring football practices are up and running, along with Pro Days and the upcoming NFL draft. As usual, we have you covered below.
A big day as the NCAA goes to court.
Things are heating up in the battle of amateurism. Today, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments over how schools compensate athletes. One side argues that schools should not put a cap on aid, while the other side there are millions of dollars floating around college football programs and the athletes, who are the driving forces, are the only ones with a cap. This is a big step in the case.
Lobos add... another QB
New Mexico continues to add to their program, this time in form of Kentucky transfer QB Terry Wilson. Wilson brings 25 games of starting experience over the past three years, going 17-8, including a bowl win this past year. This is his fourth school, after stops at Oregon and Garden City Community College. New Mexico has many QBs on the roster, but as they showed last year, one can never have too many.
Arroyo prepares for the first spring in his second season.
Things did not get off on the right foot last year for Marcus Arroyo as he went prepared to start spring practices. Despite all his planning, they never got going, as Covid wiped up spring ball. This year, he can finally get those important 15 practices as the team seeks to improve from the first year to the second.
