Well, there are no more MW teams left in the NCAA tournament, however, Boise State and Colorado State continue their NIT journey!
Utah State had their chances against TTU
Up by 3 at halftime Utah State had their opportunities to steal one from Texas Tech but a season high in turnovers plagued the Aggies chance to sneak out with a win. A strong defensive effort was not enough to overcome the scoring droughts and 22 turnovers as the Aggies head into the offseason ready to run it back next year.
MW NCAA tournament units hard to come by
Playing in the NCAA tournament is important, not just for basketball reasons but for money reasons. The more NCAA games, or units, a conference plays in the more money they get. Unfortunately this year wasn’t as lucrative as it could have been with the MW getting 2 units from USU and SDSU playing a game each. Units have been hard to come by for the conference, garnering only 10 total units since 2016 with Nevada providing half of them.
