The Aggies seemed like a pretty good bet to pull off and upset, and they hung with them for about a half. They even had a six-point lead at one point, but the Red Raiders went on a 24-4 run, and that sealed their feat. Queta had a strong game but the team couldn’t find a consistent defense.
San Diego State should have had a better showing than this, but they ended up getting upset. Syracuse struggled all year but turned it on when it mattered. On the other hand, the Aztecs shot 22.6 percent in the first half and really never recovered.
