Nevada’s Robby Robinson enters the NCAA Transfer Portal

NCAA Basketball: Nevada at San Diego State Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

Nevada Wolf Pack forward Robby Robinson entered the NCAA transfer portal Wednesday, per a VerbalCommits.com report that Robinson retweeted.

Robinson spent two seasons with the Wolf Pack after transferring from San Diego City College, starting in 34 of the 55 games he played in with Nevada. Starting in all 31 games in 2019-20, averaging 2.7 points and 5.1 rebounds in 19.1 minutes per game.

In 2020-21, his role decreased — averaging just 1.0 point and 3.4 rebounds in 24 games (three starts). Robinson shot a dismal 29.4 percent from the floor — down from his 51.5 percent mark in 2019-20 — and 55.6 percent from the free-throw line. He saw over a six minute decrease on average, playing just 12.7 minutes per game this season.

In his one season at San Diego City College, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 15.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.5 blocks per game on 45.3 percent shooting. Robinson will have two years of eligibility remaining due to the NCAA granting all winter athletes one extra year of eligibility.

With the additions of transfers Addison Patterson and Will Baker, Nevada entered the offseason with 15 scholarships, two more than the NCAA’s maximum of 13 scholarships allotted for men’s basketball. Now, it’s just one more over the threshold for the 2021-22 season.
