March-ing on to the class of 2022

It’s another week of the MWC Recruiting Roundup.

The start of March represents the start of our 2022 recruiting coverage, although Mountain West teams have been recruiting in full force for the past month. Once again, 11 of 12 teams got involved in the action with offers.

Without any commits, we are looking at offers for this week’s cover photo winner. Utah State led the way in that category with 13.

Class of 2021 Cover Photo Total:

  • Fresno State: 1
  • Utah State: 1

Recruiting Calendar:

The dead period is still alive. But based on what the NCAA is allowing, it seems more like a contact period to some degree, as coaches can have unlimited calls and video meetings during this time.

Air Force Commitment Tracker:

Since the Air Force Academy regularly has around 100 commits in each class, it’s kind of fun to track them over the course of the year.

Number of Falcon verbal commits: 0

March Team Recruiting Rankings:

1) Fresno State

2-11) Everyone else.

It’s rare we even have Moutain West commits in March, let alone four from one team. The Bulldogs have given themselves a sizeable early lead in the team recruiting rankings. Obviously, things will look different a year from now and these rankings won’t have much meaning until at least the end of summer, but we will roll out updated team rankings each month nevertheless. If nothing else, view them as a checkpoint in the early stages of recruiting.
