2021 Hula Bowl Stock Report

Who raised or lowered their stock this week?

Following the game, let’s look at how each player changed their stock. Keep in mind information can be hard to come by for players, depending on their performance or their position. If anyone else can find info, please post in the comments.

Parker Ferguson (Air Force)

  • Twitter Buzz: N/A
  • Synopsis: No news is not good news. Ferguson is perhaps the best offensive lineman coming out of the Mountain West this year. However, it doesn’t seem like he turned any heads this past week. It will remain to be seen how much it will actually affect his draft stock.
  • Stock Report: DOWN

OL Syrus Tuitele (Fresno State)

  • Twitter Buzz: N/A
  • Synopsis: Syrus is a solid o-lineman but he was not able to stand out among his peers in the Hula Bowl. The good news is he got coaching and feedback and now can apply that before his next opportunity at his pro day.
  • Stock Report: DOWN

WR Rico Bussey (Hawaii)

  • Twitter Buzz:
  • Synopsis: Bussey was arguably the best wide receiver in the Hula Bowl. He was targetted more than any other receiver and also led the game in receiving yards. He impressed as a first-time slot receiver, which will likely be his position in the NFL. It sounds like he put himself in a position to be a Day 3 draft pick.
  • Stock Report: UP

OL Taaga Tuulima (Hawaii)

  • Twitter Buzz:
  • Synopsis: Tuulima was the starting center on his team, which is a nod to how well he did in practices. Even better, he showcased his versatility by playing all three interior positions on the offensive line. While he may have not solidified himself as a draftable player, display an ability to play three different positions will likely make him a priority UDFA for many NFL teams.
  • Stock Report: SLIGHTLY UP

DB EJ Muhammad (Nevada)

  • Twitter Buzz:
  • Synopsis: Muhammad got on the field and displayed his talent. He didn’t appear to make any big mistakes or expose any weaknesses. However, he didn’t do anything to stand out in a good way either.
  • Stock Report: EVEN

P Tyson Dyer (New Mexico)

  • Twitter Buzz: N/A
  • Synopsis: Tyson was not able to attract much attention in his Hula Bowl showing. It can be difficult enough for specialists but the road got a bit harder for Dyer after today. He still has his track record in college and his pro day, but for someone at his age, he needs every opportunity to separate himself from the pack.
  • Stock Report: DOWN

DB Tariq Thompson (SDSU)

  • Twitter Buzz: N/A
  • Synopsis: In a surprising turn of events, Thompson did not get much chatter on social media. Nor did any practice or game highlights of him surface over the past week. While this probably won’t hurt Tariq too much and he will likely still get drafted, it probably knocks his status down a peg or two. He may have ended his chances to be a day two pick, unless he shows out in his other opportunities proving this to be an anomaly.
  • Stock Report: SLIGHTLY DOWN

WR Tre Walker (SJSU)

  • Twitter Buzz:
  • Synopsis: Walker was also one of the most impressive receivers in the bowl practices and game. He stood out in practices, making the kind of plays he was known for at San Jose State. Walker didn’t have much to prove in the game but he only helped his cause by being his consistent self in front of coaches and scouts. He will be knocked a bit for his height but that is out of his control.
