In the college football world, the grass isn’t always greener.

This is a great article discussing how in a world of constant coaching turnover, having a known commodity isn’t a bad thing, even if it is imperfect. Michael Katz centers his point around Craig Bohl. Fans are frustrated and some have legitimate reasons to be, but Bohl has raised the bar of the Wyoming program, even if he hasn't taken it to new heights in the Group of 5 world. And the turnover in the rest of the conference hasn’t always been for the best.

Would you have guessed Craig Bohl is the highest-paid coach in the Mountain West these days? Probably not. There are two unknown salaries currently, but it’s safe to say 9 of 12 coaches likely make over $1 million (now). Coaching salaries are one of the big factors that hold the conference back, as it is harder to keep coaches around. Also, the Wolf Pack is getting an absolute steal in Jay Norvell.
