Mountain West, Boise State could be nearing fall football season
Writing these daily recaps has become tricky with things seemingly changing, or becoming more detailed by the hour. As of the writing of this post, it sure seems like the Mountain West is very close to reversing course on its postponement of football season. An 8-game schedule is being proposed assuming the conference’s testing protocols are deemed adequate by the university presidents. This could all change in the next 10 seconds, but Thursday and Friday appear to be critical deciders in this debate.
Fresno State submits plan to county, taking next step to joining fall football season
This is one of several situations that needs to be handled and approved before the conference can move forward. Expect Hawaii and New Mexico to present the biggest obstacles.
How ready are Mountain West schools to play a modified fall football season?
The Coloradoan’s Kelly Lyell put together a handy guide as to where each Mountain West football team stands in terms of preparation as individual state regulations permitted. Shocking to nobody, do not expect an even playing field this fall. Air Force has an absolutely enormous advantage over the rest of the conference, having completed spring ball and are currently practicing in prep for their game vs. Navy. Fresno State is the opposite end of that spectrum, with their players being barred from the team facilities since MARCH. 2020 MWC football would bring us all joy, but this’ll definitely be a season with a large asterisk next to it.
There are a lot of games being postponed/canceled

Well done, Teton!
Another day, another honor for Teton Saltes! @Beast__Mobile is one of 22 players on the @Allstate AFCA #GoodWorksTeam and just one of 11 in the FBS!!! #GoLobos pic.twitter.com/hFHekXkCha

Dear MWC, please do better than these conferences
“We are postponing our game against Tulsa because the amount of unavailable players at one specific position group doesn’t allow for us to safely play the game,” said A-State Director of Athletics @TerryMohajirAD.

This situation is going to be tricky
This will definitely be an issue if Mountain West decides to try to play football this fall. New Mexico and Hawaii both have 14-day travel quarantines in place. #CSURams #MWFB https://t.co/mtcfTv9dfl
