Welcome to Day 2 without a football season.
Games are pushed back at least 6 more months, but the news and updates are coming in seemingly be the hour. Here is what’s is going on in the college football world today:
Ram sports hope spring is realistic.
The women’s soccer and volleyball teams were practicing earlier on Monday before the news broke about sports being postponed. Players, especially seniors, are hoping that playing in the spring is actually possible and not just continuing to dangle the carrot. But nothing is certain right now.

Why Group of 5 conference aren’t on the same page.
The MAC and MWC have cancelled their seasons. The American, Sun-Belt and C-USA have not. The reason for the differences? One is geography, as difference conferences are in different states with varying impacts and levels of urgency about the virus. Different medical groups are apparently coming to different conclusions for each conference as well. But a lack of cohesion among any of the 10 FBS conferences is apparent.
Aztecs facing a budget squeeze.
San Diego State wants to keep their athletes on campus and on scholarship. They want to play in the spring if it is safe to do so and due right by their athletes. They are also facing a loss of at least $12 million by not having football this fall. Things are about to get very tricky for schools this year.

"I think for the seniors, the reality of it is, am I done playing football at Boise State? Lets be honest, with the uncertainty right now, that's a fair question."

On the horizon:
- Later today: Peak Perspective: Diving Into MWC Awards and Predictions (Yes this is no longer relevant, but also life hasn’t made time for more relevant content for today)
- Coming tomorrow: We would’ve kicked off our Team Preview Series. Instead, we are retooling into into our Team Analysis Series, no longer focusing on season schedules, but still looking at each team’s key players and analyzing each side of the ball. First up is SDSU.
- Coming Friday: Analyzing SJSU
- Coming Friday: MWCConnection Roundtable: What are your thoughts on how the MWC handled their decision to cancel sports?
Note: We have some content that is no longer relevant. Parts of it are still worth the read. In our twitter poll, readers said they still want team content. Taking out the schedule portion of our team previews and instead analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of each team’s offense and defense as well as personnel seems like a good start to that. That, as well as buying some time to get a plethora of content ready to go, are the main reasons why we have decided to rework those season previews and post them.
