In case you’ve been living under a rock: as a result of the social justice movements across America, statues, buildings, etc. featuring individuals with a variety of questionable histories are under protest, and that movement has finally made its way to UNLV. The Rebel mascot has confederate ties, and thus the Hey Reb! statue has come down. Could UNLV be looking at a name change soon?

Mountain West Power Rankings: San Diego State looks to defend crown

Yes, I know. The spike of more COVID-19 cases has us all wondering about the state of college athletics for 2020-2021. Even now I write this thinking, “Will any of this even happen?” but for now we press on. Heat Check CBB posted a preseason power rankings for the Mountain West with some surprising positioning. Give it a look.

Addazio and CSU off and running on the recruiting trail in 2021

The old saying goes true in recruiting: we’re a long way from signing day, but as of now Colorado State ranks first in Mountain West recruiting according to 247 Sports, with an astounding 19 commitments. Now, quality over the quantity is important. The Rams do not feature any big-named recruits (for example, Boise State’s one and only commitment, linebacker Jai Jones, has a higher grade than any of the CSU commits), but this does show off a new CSU staff that is on fire right now in recruiting.
