MWC Recruiting Roundup 6-1-20

New team recruiting rankings.

NCAA Football: New Mexico Bowl-Central Michigan vs San Diego State Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Another week, another recruiting roundup.

The offers seem to be slowing down around the Mountain West. This makes sense as every MWC team has offered nearly every recruit at this point (only half-joking).

Commitments continue to happen early, with four new verbals in the Mountain West spread across four teams. This week was touch to find any one team standing out, as none handed out tons of offers and no team had multiple commits. This week San Diego State seemed to be one of the more active teams, so they are featured on the lead photo.

Class of 2021 Cover Photo Total:

  • New Mexico: 4
  • Colorado State: 3
  • UNLV: 2
  • Air Force: 1
  • Hawaii: 1
  • Nevada: 1
  • San Diego State

Recruiting Calendar:

The dead period has been extended until May 31st. But reading below, it sounds more like a contact period to some degree, as coaches can have unlimited calls and video meetings during this time.

Update: All recruiting summer camps have been postponed.

June Team Recruiting Rankings:

Here are the rankings from May to compare.

1) New Mexico

2) Colorado State

3) Nevada

4) SDSU

5) UNLV

6) Fresno State

7) Utah State

8) Air Force

9) Boise State

10) Hawaii

11) SJSU

12) Wyoming

As I’ve done before, I’ll also group the teams by tiers, which tell a different side of the story, and can often point to the gap (or lack of a gap) between teams that rankings cannot. If someone wanted to flip a few rankings but have teams in the same tier groups, they could make a reasonable argument.

Tier 1: New Mexico, Colorado State

Tier 2: Nevada, SDSU, UNLV

Tier 3: Fresno State, Utah State, Air Force

Tier 4: Boise State, Hawaii, SJSU

Tier 5: Wyoming
