San Diego State to build new stadium in 2022
While we continue our worldly holding pattern, San Diego State is making moves. The new stadium that was approved in March now has a name and artwork. The end of the Rocky Long era introduces uncertainty for the Aztecs on the field, but the future is bright with this new landmark signifying SDSU’s commitment to football.
Preseason Top 25: No. 24 Boise State reloading in pursuit of another Mountain West championship
CBS Sports, like the rest of us, continues to move forward as if the season will go without a hitch. In their preseason preview of the Top 25, Boise State comes in at #24. The reigning Mountain West champions have questions along the trenches, but as always are the model of consistency in the league. Hank Bachmeier’s development (and whether he’s properly protected) is key for the 2020 Broncos.
Mountain West staffer named Big West’s commissioner
Hiring news: Mountain West executive Dan Butterly is now the commissioner of the Big West. He was the primary sport and championship administrator for Mountain West basketball, so it makes sense that the Big West would hire someone of his background with basketball being the $$$ sport for the conference.
