Power 5 schools spending money concerning player benefits.
Just not in the direction you think. Power 5 conferences had an extra $300,000 in the Jan-March of this year to lobby to Congress to influence their legislation that’s been appearing in different states and allows college players to benefit from their image and likeness. The SEC covered almost half of that money themselves. There’s tons of money in college football. The players just can’t have any of it apparently.
