Aztecs remain committed to playing fall sports, despite most classes online

For those of you living under a rock, the 23-school California State University system announced that fall semester will be hosted exclusively online, no students on campus. San Diego State, Fresno State, and San Jose State are included among those 23 schools. Social media was quick to bury these programs, but San Diego State is hitting everyone with the not so fast. Read above.

Fresno State releases statements on status of fall sports

Fresno State was quick to release statements with a similar theme as San Diego State: hold up, put the shovel away. Nothing has been decided. There are more concerning issues in the world presently, but these are definitely nervy times for sports fans.

Did California State system just submarine Nevada’s 2020 football season?

Part of the hysteria on social media as to the status of the 2020 Mountain West season was related to comments by Commissioner Craig Thompson a few weeks back when he stated that athletics wouldn’t occur if students couldn’t be on campus. Yesterday, Thompson walked back those comments. That aside, it’s clear the 2020 football season is in danger.
