There were some people that questioned Ezra Cleveland’s decision to leave early for the NFL draft. But a dominant showing at the NFL Combine lead to Cleveland’s stock skyrocketing. The three year starter has now found his NFL home in Minnesota.
Cleveland is reunited with former Boise State running back Alexander Mattison, who was selected in the third round by the Vikings last year. There was some speculation that the Vikings would be interested in selecting Cleveland in the first round, it turns out that they were able to land the three year starter late in the second round. Cleveland was drafted much later than many experts expected, but Minnesota has depth a running back and a veteran presence that should help with his development.
