NCAA Basketball: Mountain West Conference Tournament- Air Force vs San Diego State Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

Back to back to back to back! Boise State women outlast Fresno State in overtime thriller to win fourth straight Mountain West Tournament title

Apologies for being a day late on this, this game ended very late on Wednesday. 2-seeded Boise State women’s basketball won its fourth-consecutive conference championship in overtime against 1-seed Fresno State, in somewhat controversial fashion. Fresno State’s Aly Gamez appeared to shockingly tie the game at the buzzer, sending it to a second overtime, but the baseline referee blew her whistle due to hearing screams for a timeout from the Fresno bench. One problem: Fresno didn’t have any timeouts. A technical was assessed and Boise State won. Not bad for a football school.

Aztecs’ new offensive coordinator looking for ‘playmakers’

Spring football is happening! A brand new era of San Diego State football is under way, and new offensive coordinator Jeff Hecklinski is hoping to unlock an Aztecs’ offense that hasn’t exactly been a powerhouse in recent seasons. Can Hoke and co. keep the train moving? Improve upon the Rocky Long era? Or is regression understandably inevitable?

No. 5 San Diego State shakes off Air Force scare, 73-60

The Mountain West tournament is underway for the men, and the traditional afternoon clash between in the 1-seed vs. 8-seed played out like many past editions, with the 1-seed starting slow. The Falcons shockingly led this game at halftime, but as expected the Aztecs erased the deficit and ultimately won comfortably. A season-long theme with the Aztecs. San Diego State should coast vs. Boise State on Friday at 9 ET.

UNLV plays short-handed, comes up short against Boise State

What a difference a little over a week can make. Last week, Boise State was completely destroyed by UNLV at the Thomas & Mack Center, and just so happened to play them again on Thursday. The Broncos benefitted from the Rebels missing Elijah Mitrou-Long, but a gritty effort nonetheless put the Broncos over the Rebels. An up-and-down debut season for T.J Otzelberger comes to a conclusion, and Boise State has a date with doom against the Aztecs on Friday.

I’m up at 1 a.m. MT to add this. Absolute madness.
