MWC Recruiting Roundup 3-23-20

Lots of Aztecs offers.

NCAA Football: New Mexico Bowl-Central Michigan vs San Diego State Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Another week, another recruiting roundup.

Thankfully, offers are still being handed out (but not physically, don’t worry) from schools to recruits, at least for now. 68 of them to be exact. The new mandated dead period may bring that to a halt but we will carry on as long as we can. This week, it was San Diego State who seemingly offered every recruit out there led the way with offers and thus they are displayed in the photo.

Class of 2021 Cover Photo Total:

  • Air Force: 1
  • Hawaii: 1
  • San Diego State: 1
  • UNLV: 1

Recruiting Calendar:

From March 1st until April 14th, we are in the time known as the Quiet Period. New offers will still go out and recruits may take unofficial visits to a college campus. What you will see most often are teams hosting Junior Days. From NCAAsports.org:

The NCAA defines the quiet period as a time when “a college coach may not have face-to-face contact with college-bound student-athletes or their parents off the college campus and may not watch student-athletes compete or visit their high school.” To break it down, the NCAA Quiet Period is a time you can talk to college coaches in-person on their college campus. However, the coach is not allowed to watch athletes compete in-person, visit their school, talk to them at their home—or talk to them anywhere outside of the college campus. The goal of this period is to give elite recruits a break from getting visited by college coaches at their games and at their home. For average recruits, this time will feel like a contact period. You can still text, call, email or direct message coaches during this time—and you should be reaching out to stay proactive in your recruiting.

As of Friday the 13th, we are in a mandatory Dead Period.
