Contract details for Lobos’ Gonzales.

Information about new New Mexico football coach Danny Gonzales has been reported. This link states he will make $750K a year over the next five seasons. However, he has a $2 million buyout that decreases each year to nothing but the base contract the fifth season. There are incentives for winning coach of the year, winning the conference, or reaching a bowl game.

This proposal is one to keep an eye on.

News came out last week about the B1G proposing a one-time player transfer in all sports where a player would not have to sit out a year if they transfer. If the conference passes this, it likely won’t be long before others do the same to stay competitive. While there are still many steps to go, it’s worth following.

Charges filed against Caldwell.

The off the court trouble for the New Mexico men’s basketball team this season continues. The local media reported that the Albuquerque police have filed charges against student athlete J.J. Caldwell, a misdemeanor of battery against a housemate stemming from December.

Leonard gets a big honor.
